PURPOSE:To continuously manufacture a sheet metal from a molten metal by a simple process by allowing a molten metal to flow down onto a rapidly rotating disk to scatter the molten metal in the form of atomized particles by means of centrifugal force and allow these particles to adhere to an endless belt-shaped solidification substrate in the outside periphery, drawing out the resulting solidified sheet, and then applying rolling to the above. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal 22 such as molten steel in a tundish 21 is allowed to fall down in the form of a molten metal stream 24 through a nozzle 23 onto a rapidly rotating disk 25. Since the disk 25 rotates at high speed, and simultaneously, it continuously moves up and down, as well, in a vertical direction as shown by an arrow, the molten metal is scattered in the form of atomized particles 27 over a wide range in a vertical direction and is allowed to adhere to the surface of a solidification substrate 26 in the shape of an endless belt circularly moving round the disk 25 so as to be formed into a metal sheet 28. Since this metal sheet 28 has about 95% bulk density, it is separated from the solidification substrate 26 and then rolled by means of a rolling device 30 so as to be formed in to a metal sheet of true density. |
