摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide manufacturing methods for an optical element and imaging element, which prevents machining loads from being applied locally on outer surfaces of a laminated block to prevent a plurality of laminated transparent plates from coming apart.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an optical element includes: a laminating step for forming a laminated block 6 by laminating a plurality of glass plates 3, each having a reflective surface 2 formed at least on one principal surface 3a, in a direction perpendicular to the reflective surfaces 2; and a cutting step for cutting the laminated block 6 in a direction crossing the reflective surfaces 2 to produce a tabular optical element having reflective surfaces 2 that are parallel to a thickness direction thereof and parallelly disposed at a predetermined interval. The method also includes, before the cutting step, a flattening step for flattening two outer surfaces 6a of the laminated block 6, the two outer surfaces 6a being the ones that cross a cut surface, of the laminated block 6, to be formed in the cutting step and correspond to end faces of the glass plates 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
