<p>A drain assembly for sinks, tubs, basins and similar vessels utilizes a strainer body which is of thin wall metal construction, in combination with a plastic housing subassembly, to provide significant savings in manufacturing costs. The spout portion of the strainer body has a thread of relatively coarse pitch, which preferably makes less than a full revolution thereabout and cooperates with an internally threaded metal insert, the latter being permanently affixed within an enlarged portion of the plastic housing sleeve.</p> |
