A capacitor having at least one plastic film and two electrically conductive coatings which are separated by the film is characterised in that at least one plastic film is allocated to each coating, in that each coating is formed by a metallisation which has a surface resistance of between 2 and 30 ohms and is fitted on a layer having a fibrous structure which supports the regeneration capability in such a manner that the capacitor is constructed as a capacitor which can be regenerated (self-curing capacitor), in that the capacitor is impregnated with a fluid dielectric, and in that the thickness of the individual dielectrics and the fluid dielectric are selected such that, when an operating voltage is applied, the ratio of the field strength to the breakdown strength is essentially identical for all the dielectrics. In principle, the capacitor can be loaded with a high field strength. |
