<p>PURPOSE:To attain efficient distribution connection by adding an output logic channel number OLCN after passing through a self-routing switch so as to allow the hardware to exchange the cell. CONSTITUTION:A routing header processing section 21-1 gives an input link number ILN and an output link flag OLF to a cell C1 coming from, e.g., an input link #1 and a self routing switch 22 stores a cell C1a to a buffer BU of an output link corresponding to a bit set by the OLF and reads it out. An output logic channel number processing section 23-1 gives an OLCN on an output link corresponding to input logic channel numbers ILCN and ILN and sends it to the output link (in this case, #1). Since the OLCN is given after routing, the cell overhead in the self-routing switch is reduced and the cell length in the switch is fixed and the distribution connection is made efficient.</p> |
