Touch-(tap-)counter

Traditionally, the counting of units (words, characters, bacteria, etc.) is carried out with the aid of a classical writing device (such as pencil or ball-point pen), with the disadvantages that undesired traces (small points, dashes) can arise, and that the person counting must "count along" with relatively high concentration, which often leads to the counting process having to be repeated because of the excessively large error count. The electronic touch-counter is intended to eliminate these disadvantages and to make possible a more rapid, more accurate, less fatiguing and modern counting. In the electronic touch-counter, each unit is individually touched with a sensor head built into a cylindrical housing, the pulses are added in a microprocessor and the result is displayed in a liquid-crystal display. The supply of energy is achieved by means of a battery or a solar cell. The electronic touch-counter allows the counting person (pupil, teacher, secretary, scientist, etc.) to count cleanly, rapidly and accurately.
