A shooting weapon which is operated using CO2 gas has a pressure chamber in which the gas is stored for firing. The shot is fired by opening the valve which seals the pressure chamber from the weapon barrel. In order to compensate for pressure changes in the CO2 gas resulting from temperature fluctuations, a piston is mounted displaceably in the pressure chamber, which piston acts on the valve spring or the firing spring. In the event of a reduction in pressure, the valve spring or the firing spring is relieved of stress by the piston movement, as a result of which the valve opening time and hence the gas quantity required for firing are increased. This automatic regulation of the valve opening time as a function of the gas pressure ensures a constant projectile muzzle velocity and hence constant firing precision. |
