PURPOSE: To deliver natural gas at a great ocean depth by using a bearing as a magnetic bearing, constituting a housing a little far from a flow passage of a compressing step within the limits of the compressing step and using a gas-side duct between a compressing step group as a surface cooler. CONSTITUTION: An axis 9 is supported by three radial-direction magnetic bearings 10 and an axial direction magnetic bearing 11. High frequency motors 1, 2, exciters 3, 4, and a radial flow pressure step 7 are included in a common housing 15 airtightly against a sorrounding liquid 16. Gas to be conveyed enters the first radial fluid pressure step 5 through a suction pipe 17. Gas flows from an impeller of the first flow pressure compressing step to an impeller of the second radial flow compressing step through a return passage, then flows through a diffuser to a surface cooler 18 which is constituted as a circular cooler and surrounds concentrically through the housing 15 as a coil pipe.
