The packaging containers used previously for packaging bars of chocolate have the disadvantage that packaging the same number of bars of different thickness requires either packaging containers of different dimensions or additional packaging elements for filling in hollow spaces. Additionally, the secure stacking of such packaging containers often poses difficulties. The novel packaging container is to be dimensionally stable, stackable and, with a manner of production which is simple and uses little material, provide the possibility of adapting the usable depth of the container interior without the use of additional packaging elements. In order to increase the dimensional stability of such a packaging container, corner flaps (30) are arranged in the corner regions of the bottom part (10) of the packaging container in addition to the inner flaps (24) bonded on the inside, which corner flaps allow externally overlapping bonding of the front wall (15) or the rear wall (14) to the side walls (13). The angular projections in the corner regions of the bottom part which protrude beyond the plane of the lid part (11) provide a partial positive-locking engagement of the packaging containers stacked one above the other and thus reliable stacking. Arranged on the rear wall (14) of the packaging container are variable spacers (36) which are part of the blank (20) of the bottom part (10). Packaging of individual articles. <IMAGE>
