PURPOSE:To speed up the processing of image data by simultaneously segmenting and thinning a part of expanded image data, adjusting the boundaries of thinned image data and storing them in an image memory. CONSTITUTION:A pattern memory 1, a segment/thinning part 2, data transfer part 3, and a control part 4 controlling these actions are supplied. The segment/ thinning part 2 simultaneously segments and thins by the pattern of segment and thinning 13 stored in the pattern memory 1. Since data which have been thus segmented and thinned are transferred to the image memory in the units of segment by information designating the segment position of data in the image memory to store, segmented and thinned data are stored in the image memory with the boundaries being adjusted in the segment position. Thus, three processings of segment, the thinning and the adjustment of the boundaries of stored data are attained at high speed. |
