摘要 PURPOSE:To detect the spot diameter of laser beam, by providing a means for detecting the spot diameter of the laser beam allowed to irradiate the affected part of a living body to a laser apparatus for treatment. CONSTITUTION:The spot diameter of laser beam is regulated by appropriately revolving a spot diameter regulating dial 211 and the desired argon laser beam or cripton laser beam from a laser beam source is allowed to irradiate the eye of a patient through a fiber in matching relation to the slit image on the retina of said eye. In this case, the spot diameter detecting area provided to the peripheral surface of a regulating ring 210 moves with the revolution of the spot diameter regulating dial 211. The beam emitted from a beam source 214 is allowed to irradiate a spot diameter detecting area 212 through a half mirror 215 and a lens 216 and the beam reflected from the spot diameter detecting area passes through the lens 216 and is reflected by the half mirror 215 to reach a photodetector 217 and the data corresponding to the size of the detecting area 212, that is, the spot diameter of laser beam is taken out through a circuit not shown in a drawing.
