A SERVO BRAKE OPERABLE BY HYDRAULIC POWER

The drive housing for a wheel shaft is covered by an end plate (10) whose outside face provides the location for the brake mchanism for a drum brake. Two tapped holes (44) are used to fix the hydraulic brake cylinder (38) which is located between two ends of the brake shoes. Radially opposite, a self adjusting spindle assembly (66) provides compensation for brake shoe wear. The location ribs (16) for the brake shoes is also an integral part of the outside profile on the cover plate.
