A fire-ventilator is described which has a housing 1, which is normally closed off by at least one hatch 6, and which comprises a locking mechanism 10 for the said hatch 6, an opening member 43 for interaction with the locking mechanism and an emergency trip apparatus 12 for releasing the locking mechanism 10, the hatch 6 being kept pre-tensioned and being released whenever the locking function is released, which locking mechanism has a first locking element 14, which is disposed on an assembly wall 9, and a second locking element 15, which is supported by a fastening apparatus 33, attached to the hatch 6, for locking engagement with the first locking element 14. According to the invention, the first locking element has the form of a locking bar 14, which has a mounting claw 18 for pivotal mounting of the locking bar 14 on the assembly wall, a locking claw 17 which can be pivoted relative to the mounting claw 18, a supporting arm 20 and a clamping arm 19, which is hinge-connected to the locking claw 17, this in turn being hinge-mounted on the supporting arm. The opening member further comprises an opening arm 43, which firstly is mounted pivotably on the assembly wall and secondly is connected in trippable arrangement to the emergency trip member 12 whilst the opening arm 43 supports the supporting arm 20 in order to maintain the locking engagement.
