PURPOSE:To enable the stable pressure contact of the teeth of a corrosion-resisting sprocket with the barrels of a chain, by pressing stainless steel to obtain tooth form members and by setting the members in a sprocket mold so that the members are embedded in a sprocket base by casting. CONSTITUTION:Tooth form members 1, which have the same tooth form as a sprocket to be manufactured, are made of stainless steel by a press so that both the ends of each tooth form member have cast-embedding protrusions 2. A mold 3 for the sprocket is provided by a molding machine. The tooth form members 1 are fitted on the portions of the mold 3 corresponding to the teeth of the sprocket. A molten metal for general structural members is poured into the mold 3 so that a sprocket base 4 is made of the metal and the tooth form members 1 are cast-embedded in positions for pressure contact with chain barrels 5. |
