PURPOSE:To efficiently transmit a load applied to a sidestep to a car body by supporting one end of a support arm supporting the sidestep with a floor panel and supporting the middle portion of the support arm with a side sill. CONSTITUTION:A load P is applied to a sidestep S when getting in or out of a car. A clamper 8 clamping the lower end flange 1a of a side sill 1 tends to move slantly downward Q with a support point A serving as a rotating center, but the clamper 8 is restrained by the lower end flange 1a and is not removed from the flange 1a. A support arm 2 is effectively supported by the lower end flange 1a of the side sill 1 through the clamper 8. Support reaction forces RA, RB are generated respectively on the support point A of the support arm 2 for a floor panel 4 and a support point B of the support arm 2 for the side sill 1, thereby the load P is shared and supported by the support points A and B respectively, and the load transmission efficiency to a car body can be improved accordingly. |
