PURPOSE:To improve the normal and critical running performance on both dry and wet road surfaces by forming an annular rib along a circumference of a tire in a specific width inside from an outer road contact line of a tread surface and forming the rib from a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:An annular rib 10 is formed along a circumference of a tire inside from an outer road contact line m of a tread surface 4 under the condition where the tire is mounted to a vehicle. The rib 10 has a width W1 set to be in the range of 20-50% of a road contact width W of the tread surface 4. The rib 10 may be formed with a plurality of lug grooves 11a and 11b so as to improve the drainage. The rib 10 is formed from a compound having a grip ability higher than that of the other tread surface (an area having a width of W-W1). The compound is formed by a rubber composition containing a rubber material such as natural rubber or polybutadiene rubber and additives such as a vulcanizing agent and an antioxidant. |
