PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, containing a collagen peptide, dibasic carboxylic acid and quaternary ammonium salt, having pH and ash content within specific ranges and capable of removing excessive metallic ions by adsorption and immediately recovering original touch of the hair at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A keratinous fiber treating agent composition, containing (A) 1-90wt.% collagen peptide, preferably having 200-2,000 average molecular weight and containing 10-15mol.% total amount of glutamic acid and aspartic acid in the total amino acids constituting the collagen peptide, (B) 0.9-9wt.% dibasic carboxylic acid (e.g. citric, malic maleic or fumaric acid) and (C) 0.05-5wt.% quaternary ammonium salt expressed by the formula (one or two of R1-R4 are 8-22C long-chain alkyl or long-chain hydroxyalkyl and the rest are 1-3C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, benzyl, etc.; X is halogen) and having pH 4-7 and ash content of <=0.1wt.% expressed in terms of sulfates based on the ingredient (A). |
