The invention relates to a circuit arrangement on or for a tractive unit of a model railway or the like, which is equipped with direct current motor (10) and two current collectors. So that the tractive unit can travel through spiral mountainous routes or the like without having to stop or change its direction of travel and without having to reverse the polarity of the track sections which border on the isolating point required in the region of a spiral mountainous route, according to the invention the circuit arrangement has a control stage (17) which is to be connected between the current collectors and the direct current motor (10) and, irrespective of the polarity of a direct voltage applied to the current collectors, always outputs a direct voltage with a preselected polarity to the direct current motor (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
