<p>In a pressure cylinder with a stationary support (2) and a cylinder shell (1) which rotates about the support and moves in the support (S) direction over the total width of the cylinder, axial and radial guiding of the cylinder shell is achieved with minimal friction and without the use of rolling bearings by guide devices of the cylinder shell. The guide devices have hydrostatic support elements (6, 7) which are entrained in the support direction (S). The bearing surfaces (9) of the support elements and the running surface (5) on the cylinder shell are spherical, for example mutually symmetrical at both ends of the cylinder, or at one end only of the cylinder or at the centre of the cylinder.</p> |
