A pipe joint of two pipes with taper threads on the spigot ends is effected by a sleeve with two female taper threads and a collar in the center. When all threada are fully screwed up, curved faces of the spigot ends contact corresp. curved faces on the sleeve to form a seal, with a slight radial deformation of the leading end of the spigot.
