PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent deodorizing material having quick acting effect on many malodorous components containing four serious malodorous components of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, methylmercaptan and amines, by forming said deodorizing material from a non-microporous deodorant,a microporous deodorant and a carrier for the deodorants. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing material consists of a non-microporous deodorant, a microporous deodorant and a carrier for these deodorants. As the non- microporous deodorant, a deodorant composed of a composition consisting of a ferrous salt, an oxycarboxylic acid compound having two or more carboxyl groups and sulfate and/or sulfite as the third component develops especially marked effect. A ferrous ion shows marked stability to oxygen in air and has light fastness and heat resistance and the active state of the ferrous ion is kept for a long period of time. The oxycarboxylic acid compound having two or more carboxyl groups in the molecule thereof is a compound effectively acting on the suppression of the oxidation of the iron ion and the keeping of active state thereof through the chemical reaction of the ferrous ion. The microporous deodorant is one having microporosity such as activated carbon, zeolite, bentonite or a silica gel. |
