PURPOSE:To shorten the length of the output side of a crank shaft by a method wherein a rotor for an electric generator for the internal-combustion engine, equipped with the cantilever type crank shaft, is provided at the free end of the crank pin while a coil for the electric generator is provided in a crank case. CONSTITUTION:The internal-combustion engine is consisting of the cantilever type crank shaft 4, a connecting rod 7 and the like, and the rotor 16 for the electric generator, consisting of a permanent magnet, is attached to the free end of the crank pin 6. The crank case 9 is constituted by a non-magnetic body, and a fixed iron core 18 is attached to the coil 17 for the generator, which is opposing to the rotor 16, thus, a generating member 15 is constituted by these parts. The generating member is provided at the free end of the crank pin, instead of the output side of the crank shaft, therefore, the length of the output side of the crank shaft may be shortened and the size as well as the weight of the internal-combustion engine may be reduced effectively. |
