PURPOSE:To obtain a marking with to ruggedness on the surface of a marking part by performing irradiation in a magnetic field and heating or cooling a member to be treated without melting and evaporating at the time of marking by projecting a high energy beam. CONSTITUTION:To take an example, a laser beam 1 taken out of a CO2 laser oscillator 10 is scanned by an X-axis and y-axis galvano-scanner 3 in an arbitrary pattern. After this beam is bent once by a reflect mirror 5 through a condensing lens 4, it is condensed on the surface of a member 6 to be marked so that the beam obtains a suitable density of power. At this time, when the density of power is adjusted to be about 10<4>W/cm<2>, the surface of the member 6 can be heated so that it is not melted or evaporated. When the member is of steel material, a magnetic grating 30 is formed in a beam irradiating part by heating or cooling in a magnetic field due to an electric magnet 20, and accordingly, characters and signals can be marked and the marked surface is even. |
