PURPOSE:To obtain a clear print, by a method wherein a different kind of dye is used to a same color ink which is different in density to one another and besides, a different color correction processing is performed according to an optical density area represented by the ink. CONSTITUTION:R, G, B signal of pixels of one line content are complementary colors converted to C, M, Y density values with a gradation conversion circuit 19, and correction data C', M', Y', are outputted according to combination of the C, M, Y density values with a color correction and black generation circuit 20. A density selection UCR dither circuit 31 and dither circuit 32 input the C', M', Y', density values and x, y addresses indicating a printing position, and outputs a variable density and a printing density by using a table converter (ROM). This density value is converted to a voltage value which is printed at each nozzle with a density voltage conversion circuit 33, which is converted to a drive waveform pulse with a D/A converter 34 and a head driver 35, and printing is performed by driving a head. |
