PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin excellent in dryability, compatibility and solubility, by reacting cellulose acetate butyrate with a specified acid anhydride, a specified OH-containing polymerizable monomer and a monomer copolymerizable therewith. CONSTITUTION:2-60wt.% cellulose acetate butyrate (A) containing 1.8-15wt.% acetyl groups, 36-58wt.% butyryl groups and at most 5wt.% OH groups is reacted with 0.05-15wt.% unsaturated bond-free acid anhydride (B) selected from among succinic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, trimellitic anhydride and pyromellitic anhydride, 0.1-70wt.% OH-containing polymerizable monomer (C) selected from among 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate and 2-hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate and 97.85-25wt.% other polymerizable monomers (D) copolymerizable with components A-C at room temperature to 200 deg.C in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst and a polymerization initiator. |
