<p>When the temperature (30) of a turbine is above a predetermined temperature after the stop of operation of an engine (1) with a turbocharger (10) being operated at a high load in an internal combustion engine, control is made so as to operate an A.C. generator-motor (4) as a motor, air from a compressor (3) or cooling air is fed into the turbine (2) through an exhaust pipe (11) to dissipate the heat of, and cool, the turbine (2) that has attained a high temperature by receiving the heat of an exhaust gas so that a magnetic rotor (16) consisting of a permanent magnet and disposed on a shaft (6) between the turbine (2) and the compressor (3) can be protected from the high heat of the turbine (2) and bearings (18) can be lubricated by feeding a lubricating oil (19) to the bearings by rotating the shaft of the turbocharger (10) during the period in which the turbine (2) is at high temperature, thereby preventing carbonization of the lubricating oil and seizure of the bearings (18).</p> |
