The lift (1) is for installation in home e.g. blocks of flats for carrying people and mail. It involves letter-boxes (2) in the individual flats in or on the lift (1). The letter-boxes are fixed as a prefabricated unit (3) to the side (4) of the lift, or incorporated in the side (4) of the lift. USE/ADVANTAGE - The incorporation of the letter-box within the lift enables the inhabitants of a block to post mail without leaving the building.
