The invention relates to a magnetic lining 4 intended to equip the jaws of a clamping vice. The upper bracket 4 is made from a lightweight alloy. It has a notch 12 in which there is housed a pad 17 with permanent magnets. The assembly is coated by overmoulding in the small strip 15 made of synthetic material.
