PURPOSE:To restrict the increase of temperature in a printing head easily by providing a printing control means for actuating an excitation coil temperature detecting means each time a fixed amount of printing is completed and stopping printing to be performed when the temperature of the coil reaches a reference value. CONSTITUTION:A printing control means 15 supplies printing current to an excitation coil 2 in a printing head H to drive printing wire 1. At the same time, said control means 15 gives a prearranged signal to a printing head movement means 11 to move the printing head H to a direction along a printing line for printing. Further, each printing is completed, the printing control means 5 actuates the excitation coil temperature detecting means 4 to detect the temperature of the excitation coil 2 from a change in the resistance value of the excitation coil 2. Then the printing control means 15 stops printing action to be performed when the temperature of the excitation coil has reached a reference value. In this way, an error of detection is minimized by direct detection of the temperature of the excitation coil 2 from variations of the resistance value of the excitation coil 2. At the same time, an increase in the temperature of the printing head is controlled without any deterioration of printing throughput attributed to printing stop. |
