DECODER FOR PICTURE BLOCK CODE SIGNAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To simplify the elimination circuit for block distortion by applying distortion elimination only to a picture element at a border of blocks where distortion is especially remarkable and displaying other elements as they are. CONSTITUTION:A distortion elimination circuit 5 applies low pass filtering with a characteristic to a picture signal decoded by a decoding circuit 2, a switch 6 is thrown upward position only when the picture elements at the outer circumference of a block are outputted and the distortion elimination circuit is sent to a D/A conversion circuit 3. In other cases, the output of the decoding circuit 2 is sent to the D/A conversion circuit 3 as it is. Thus, only the picture elements on the outer circumference of the block where block distortion is especially remarkable are eliminated for the distortion and the block distortion caused by the block coding is reduced by the addition of a simple circuit.
