PURPOSE:To obtain the titled pole having excellent adhesivity between the fiber bundle core and the coating layer, by impregnating reinforcing fibers with uncured thermosetting polymer added with powdery thermoplastic polymer, curing the thermosetting polymer under heating and coating the product with a molten thermoplastic polymer. CONSTITUTION:Reinforcing fibers 1 delivered from unwinders 2... are aligned in the direction of length, introduced into an impregnation tank 3 and impregnated with an uncured thermosetting polymer added with powdery thermoplastic polymer. The bundle of the fiber 1 is introduced into a heating die 4 to cure the impregnated thermosetting polymer. The obtained core material 5 composed of the fiber bundle is introduced into a crosshead die 7 of an extruder 6 and coated with a molten thermoplastic polymer of the kind same as the powdery thermoplastic polymer. At the same time, longitudinal ridges are formed on the outer surface of the extrudate. The ridges are successively pressed and collapsed with a press roll 10 with prescribed intervals to form protrusions on the outer surface of the coating layer. |
