PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material free of decoloration due to an oil, plasticizer or the like and having extremely high reliability, by using bis(3-chloro-4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone as a color developer in a thermal color forming layer or incorporating it into an undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:Bis(3-chloro-4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone is used as a color developer in an amount of 1-10pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of a leuco dye, in a thermal recording material comprising a thermal color forming layer. Alternatively, bis(3-chloro-4- hydroxyphenyl)sulfone is incorporated in an amount of 0.2-1.0g/m<2> in an undercoat layer, in a thermal recording material in which the undercoat layer and a thermal color forming layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer as main constituents are provided on a base in that order. By this, a thermal recording material is obtained which is excellent in resistance of images to oils and plasticizers and enhanced in reliability. The leuco dye may be an arbitrary one of those ordinarily used for such thermal recording materials. |
