PURPOSE:To reduce probability for wrong decision given to the occurrence of errors by deciding the presence or absence of an intermittent fault based on the error occurring frequency which is added for each occurrence of a hardware error and also subtracted in each prescribed cycle. CONSTITUTION:When a hardware error is detected by an adaptor 2, an interruption is applied to an OS 1 via a control register 3 and an error recovery program is started. The OS 1 uses the error occurring frequency which is subtracted by '1' in each prescribed cycle and then added by '1' every time said error recovery program is started. A recovery enable/unable deciding part 4 decides a recovery enable intermittent fault when the error occurring frequency is kept under a prescribed level. Then a recovery processing part 5 performs the recovery processing. In such a way, the presence of an intermittent fault is decided based on the immediately preceding state to reduce the probability for wrong decision to the intermittent faults occurred concentrically. |
