In known grubbers, there is a very great risk that the space between the grubber tines and the frame will become clogged, and therefore attempts are made to remedy this by means of a large clear width between the frame and the ground. A disadvantage of this is that the constructional height of these grubbers is very large. The grubber (10) according to the invention has a mixing and tilling roller (24) which rotates at a relatively high speed and which is mounted between the frame (12) and the grubber tines (18). This roller (24) picks up thrown-up earth, plant residues and the like and throws the latter off rearwards opposite to the working direction (R). The risk of clogging is thereby prevented. <IMAGE>
