An apparatus for manufacture of laminated panels having a foamed plastics core material comprises an inclined press having a fixed platen surface (1) and a movable platen surface (2) hinged adjacent its lower edge. Panel thickness is adjustable by a mechanism (33) which moves the hinge pivot (8) relative to fixed platen surface (1). The platen surfaces (1), (2) are clamped at their upper edges by spaced clamps (31) operable by lever and crank assemblies (32). A retractable seal/spacer (70) has liquid plastics injection nozzles (70) and gas venting tubes (82) in fluid communication with a hollow cavity in the press.
