PURPOSE:To obtain an image freed of background stains and toner scattering and high in fidelity by using a toner containing a polymer having a specified structure as a resin component. CONSTITUTION:The toner to be used is a negatively chargeable type and contains a resin component of the polymer having at least structural units represented by formula I in the polymer chain or the copolymer of said units and the structural units derived from a vinyl monomer, such as styrene, acrylate, methacrylate, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, or vinyl pyridine, and in the formula I, M is Cr, Co, or Fe; each of X1 and X2 is H, halogen, COOH, NO2, or the like; each of R1 and R2 is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl, or amino group; A<+> is H<+>, Na<+>, K<+>, or NR4<+>; and R is H or hydrocarbon group, thus permitting the obtained image to be sharp and freed of background stains and toner scattering. |
