A process of producing a cross-linked polymer product (1) by multilayer technique is disclosed, said product incorporating at least one silane group-containing polymer layer (2, 4) cross-linked by means of a catalyst. The cross-linked polymer product consists of a multilayered film. In the process, the catalyst is introduced into a layer (3) at or adjacent the layer or layers (2, 4) to be crosslinked, crosslinking being achieved by diffusion of the catalyst from the catalyst-containing layer (3) into the layer or layers (2, 4) to be crosslinked. The crosslinkable polymer material is a silane group-containing olefin copolymer, such as an ethylene vinyl trimethoxy silane copolymer, or an ethylene/butylacrylate/vinyl trimethoxy silane terpolymer crosslinkable by means of a silanol condensation catalyst, such as a tin carboxylate compound, for example dibutyl tin dilaurate. |
