PURPOSE:To enable characters of satisfactory shape to be doubled in horizontal and vertical lengths by providing a correction part for correcting character data which are simply doubled in two dimensions, in vertical and horizontal directions. CONSTITUTION:Input data of basic dot characters is simply enlarged by a simple enlargement part 1, and an output c from this simple enlargement part 1 is caused to shift by a single dot vertically and horizontally by a vertical and horizontal shift part 2. The logic sum (OR) of outputs d1, d2 from left and right shift parts 21, 22 is obtained by an OR circuit of the horizontal correction part, and then is entered into a vertical and horizontal correction part 33 as a horizontal correction pattern a1. In addition, the logic sum (OR) of outputs d3, d4 from vertical shift parts 23, 24 is obtained by a vertical correction part 32, and then is entered into the vertical and horizontal correction part 33 as a vertical correction pattern e2. After this, the logic product (AND) of the horizontal correction pattern e1 and the vertical correction pattern e2 is obtained to provide a vertical and horizontal correction pattern f. A stepped shape at the end of characters is corrected by means of this vertical and horizontal correction pattern f, and vertically and horizontally doubled characters of satisfactory shape are printed by a printing part 4. |
