PURPOSE:To enhance the occupying ratio of a neutron absorber and to facilitate processability, by forming a space part in the wing of a control rod by a partition material. CONSTITUTION:Wings 1 are connected to the front and back surfaces of the base part of a control rod and thin plate materials 6, 6 are provided so as to extend said wings. A large number of block-like partition materials 7... are inserted between the plate materials 6, 6 at an appropriate interval and fixed to the plate materials 6, 6 by welding. The space parts 8... partitioned by the plate materials 6, 6 and the partition materials 7 are filled with a neutron absorber 2 and the plate materials 6, 6 are connected at the end parts of the wings 1 by bending welding. By this method, since the space parts 8 filling the neutron absorber can be formed mainly only by welding work, the manufacturing processability of the wings 1 becomes easy and the volume of each of the space parts 8 can be easily increased and a larger amount of the neutron absorber 2 can be allowed to fill. |
