PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head used in recording/reproduction with high density recording, by shifting the end faces of first and second members relatively by a prescribed distance. CONSTITUTION:A quite thin insulating film I being positioned at a part with thickness (l) is confronted so as to be conformed with an end part on one side of the second member M2 from the end part on one side in the thickness direction of the first member M1 in which a ferromagnetic metallic thin film (m) and the insulating film I are laminated and adhered in order alternately on a non-magnetic material substrate or a magnetic material substrate with abrasion resistance by applying a vacuum filming technique such as a sputtering method. In such a way, it is possible to form a prescribed magnetic gap G and pseudo magnetic gap (g) easily between the first and second members M1 and M2. Reproduction can be performed with high accuracy by the magnetic gap G, and furthermore, the reproducing sensitivity of a leakage tracking reference signal in an adjacent recording mark by the pseudo magnetic gap (g) can be heightened, thereby, it is possible to obtain the reproduction of the leakage tracking reference signal in the adjacent recording mark due to the pseudo magnetic gap (g) satisfactorily. |
