PURPOSE: To operate an outdoor unit according to a safer pattern depending on the necessity when a plurality of indoor units perform cooling and heating operations simultaneously by selecting cooling or heating operation among patterns preset based on the outer air temperature, and the room temperature. CONSTITUTION: When indoor units 9a, 9b are performing cooling and heating operations (with a remote controller), respectively, the type of operation detected by detectors 14a, 14b, a temperature difference detected by detectors 15a, 15b and the outer air temperature detected by a detector 7 are fed to a controller 16. If the outer air temperature is higher than a high temperature set level, a decision is made that necessity of cooling is high and cooling operation is performed preferentially and heating indoor units perform air supply operation. If the outer air temperature is lower than a low temperature set level, a decision is made that necessity of heating is high and heating operation is performed preferentially and cooling indoor units perform air supply operation. If the outer air temperature is between both set levels, heating or cooling operation is performed preferentially depending on the room temperature and other indoor units perform air supply operation. |
