PURPOSE:To improve polishing efficiency, by a method wherein an endless felt belt is stretched around a contact roll and an idle roller for rotation, and a continuously moved stainless steel is polished by using an abrasive. CONSTITUTION:An endless felt belt 1 is stretched around a rotationally driven contact roll 2 and an idle roller 3 for rotational running. A stainless steel strip 5 unwound from a reel 8 is forced to pass between a contact roll 2 and a billy roll 4 and wound around a reel 9. The surface of the stainless steel strip 5 is polished by means of the felt belt 1 as an abrasive is fed from a nozzle 6 to the felt belt 1 or through a nozzle 7 to the strip 5. This method enables execution of efficient polishing and shortening of a polishing time. |
