The chair lift system 4 is suitable in particular for underground mining. It comprises a continuously circulating carrying cable 5 which is guided with roller supports, for suspendable carrying chairs, ascending and descending rails 11, 10 which are arranged at an incline in the region of the drive station 7 and/or deflection station and a storage facility 9 for storing carrying chairs not in use. Each storage facility 9 has a storage rail 12 which connects the descending rail 10 to the ascending rail 11. The carrying chairs can be forcibly displaced on the storage rail 12 by a circulation conveyor 13. A clock conveyor 14 and an allocation block 15 are provided at the junction of the storage rail 12 and the ascending rail 11. <IMAGE>
