PURPOSE:To obtain a power supply for a gas laser protective to low input voltage and overload by stopping the drive of a switching element when switching currents on the primary side of a switching transformer are detected and compared with reference voltage and detecting voltage is higher than reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:A power supply includes a rectifier circuit 2 rectifying an AC input, a switching element 7 switching output currents from the circuit 2, a switching transformer 3, a high-voltage rectifier circuit 4 rectifying an output from the transformer 3, an output current detector 6 detecting currents flowing through a gas laser tube as load as discharge currents, a switching control circuit 8 receiving a detecting signal from the detector 6 and outputting a drive signal ON-OFF controlling the switching element 7, a resistor 9 detecting currents flowing through the switching element 7, a detector detecting voltage generated at both ends of the resistor 9 by a diode 10 and a capacitor 11, and a comparison amplifier 14 outputting a signal short-circuiting an output signal from the switching control circuit 8 when the detecting output of the detector and reference voltage are compared and a detecting output higher than reference voltage. |
