发明名称 HEAT RESISTING CERAMICS
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain mullite heat resisting ceramics having low coefft. of thermal expansion, excellent compressive strength, etc., under calcining condition of comparatively low temp., by mixing alkali metal titanate with mullite powder and thereafter heat-treating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The alkali metal titanate (e.g. potassium titanate) and as occasion demands, further forming auxiliaries (e.g., methylcellulose), plasticizer (e.g., glycerol), etc., are mixed with the mullite powder. Then, the mixture is formed and heat-treated at >=about 1,000 deg.C to produce the targeted heat resisting ceramics. According to the process, component particles of mullite ceramics can be combinded together at a low temp., because the alkali metal titanate combines the component particles, and besides, the mullite ceramics having desired porosity can be obtd. by choosing particle diameter of the mullite particle to be used. The obtd. ceramics is suitable as carrier substrate for catalyst, etc.
