PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic capable of reducing stiffness of the air hair and simultaneously improving water holding power at a low humidity and set holding power at a high humidity, by using an amphoteric high polymer and water-soluble compound derived from chitin or chitosan together. CONSTITUTION:A hair cosmetic, obtained by blending (A) preferably 0.01-10wt.% amphoteric high polymer and (B) preferably 0.01-20wt/% water-soluble compound derived from a chitin or chitosan, e.g. (i) a water-soluble oligomer of low-molecular chitin prepared by decomposing chitin or chitosan (provided that polymerization degree of glucosamine unit is >1), (ii) a water-soluble partially deacetylated chitin having preferably 40-60% deacetylation degree and/or (iii) a derivative which is solubilized in water by introducing hydrophilic groups into the chitin or chitosan, especially the ingredient (ii) as an essential ingredient and having excellent water holding ability at a low humidity and holding power at a high humidity without stiffness of the hair. |
