Device for tensioning alignment cords for aligning construction blocks. The invention provides for the tensioning of the cord and its maintaining in place in order to align construction blocks spaced by a few millimeters from the cord and not against the latter. The device comprises two similar assemblies for tensioning and maintaining the cord in place, each of them being comprised of a guide (1) arranged on the width of the blocks and on which may slide two carriages (4) mounted under metal rods (5) for clamping sideways the block on which the device is installed, and above the winding (8) and passage (6) heads for the rope, so as to bring the latter on the outer face of one of the rods (5) of each assembly thus defining the spacing with respect to the row of blocks to be formed.
