METHOD OF PRODUCING ELECTROSTRICTIVE EFFECT ELEMENT

A method of producing an electrostatic effect element and an element produced by such method. A laminated structure is first formed from films or thin plates of electrostrictive material and internal electrodes which are superposed alternately. The laminated structure has flat side surfaces upon which the internal electrodes are exposed. The structure is then placed in a solution containing organic material and an electrophoretic process is then carried out so as to selectively deposit the organic material on exposed sections of the internal electrodes and an electrostrictive material adjacent thereto. Finally, the organic material is sintered.
