A coupling includes male and female parts which work with an interconnection and disconnection sequence. The female part comprises a sleeve-shaped valve member which brings about opening and closing of a passage, which can be connected through by means of the parts, for a medium which can be interconnected with the parts. The sleeve- shaped valve member has three different portions 9, 10, 11 or main parts, seen in the longitudinal direction of the valve member. The first portion has a cross-sectional area which is reduced in relation to the cross-sectional area/s of the other portion/s 10, 11 of the valve member. The first portion 9 is mounted in an inner space 13 arranged in the female part. At least during interconnection, the pressure in the inner space 13 lies below a maximum pressure value for the medium to be connected. In the interconnected position of the parts, the passage is formed via the outside of a preferably cover-shaped element 12 enclosing the space, one or more cutouts H in the valve member and the interior of the valve member. <IMAGE> |
