PURPOSE:To obtain a molded body which is molded easily providing a uniform molded product before defatting permitting also defatting at relatively low temp. by molding a slurry of ceramic powder and a specified poly(alpha-methyl styrene) in a solvent contg. alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin is mixed as binder with ceramic powder, and the mixture is molded, then degreased, sintered or coagulated by fusion to produce a ceramic molded body. More detailedly, poly(alpha-methyl styrene) obtd. by adding alkylene oxide to a polymer having active terminals obtd. by the living anion polymn. process, is used as the thermoplastic resin. The ceramic powder and the poly(alpha-methyl styrene) are mixed in a solvent contg. alcohol to obtain a slurry and the slurry is molded. Suitable mol.wt. of the alpha-methyl styrene polymer to be used is usually, several thousands-several hundreds. |
